AMS - Past & Present

In June, 1996, Amelia Maritime Services, Inc. was formed to provide ship agency services in the Ports of Fernandina, Jacksonville and Brunswick. The Port of Fernandina being uniquely positioned between the two larger ports allows Amelia Maritime Services, Inc. the opportunity to provide a high level of service in all three ports. Recognizing this opportunity, coupled with the lack of independent ship agents in the Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, Mr. David C. Wible, President of T. Parker Host, Inc. of Norfolk, Va., Mr. Donald T. Quinn, President of Oceanic Steamship Company of Miami, Fla. and Mr. Herbert H. Outerbridge of Salt Spring Island, B.C., founded Amelia Maritime Services, Inc.

At the same time, and as a compliment to Amelia Maritime Services, Inc., Container Maintenance & Repair Services, Inc. was also founded. Container Maintenance & Repair Services, Inc. is a fully mobile, dry and refrigerated container, trailer and chassis repair company, servicing the same NE Florida and SE Georgia area.

Although both firms are relatively young companies, personnel in both companies have many years of experience in the Maritime and Equipment Repair Industries.
